Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack the bongo drum set and the included accessories (tuning wrench, carry bag).
- Inspect the natural sheepskin heads for any initial damage.
- Use the provided wrench to gently adjust the tension rods around the drum rims to achieve the desired pitch. Tighten or loosen incrementally and test by tapping the drum head.
Compatibility:
This is a standalone percussion instrument and does not require electronic compatibility. It can be played by hand and integrated into various acoustic musical settings.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the wooden body with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive moisture.
- Drum Heads: Natural sheepskin is sensitive to humidity. Store the drums in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations. If the heads become slack due to humidity, they may need re-tuning once the environment stabilizes. If they become too tight due to dryness, humidifying the room slightly might help. Never expose sheepskin to direct water.
- Storage: Use the provided carry bag for storage and transport to protect the drums from dust, scratches, and environmental changes.
