The Marlborough Reg Treated Carcassing is a high-quality, kiln-dried structural softwood ideal for professional builders and DIY enthusiasts tackling framing, roofing, or load-bearing projects. By utilizing slow-grown timber strength-graded to C24, it provides superior reliability and consistent structural integrity; however, users should note that while it is treated for above-ground use, it is not suitable for direct ground contact or submerged applications.

No, this timber is classified as Use Class 3, which is for above-ground use only. It should not be used in direct contact with the ground.
C24 is a strength class that indicates the timber has been tested for high structural capacity and is suitable for demanding load-bearing applications.
Yes, it is perfectly suitable for indoor structural applications like wall studs and floor joists.
The timber is treated with standard wood preservatives designed to resist fungi and insects. Always wear appropriate PPE like a dust mask and gloves when cutting.
Because it is kiln-dried, the risk of significant movement, shrinking, or twisting is minimized, though minor settling can occur in extreme temperature shifts.
Standard carpentry tools such as a circular saw or a hand saw are sufficient for this grade of softwood.
Store in a dry, covered environment with proper airflow to allow the wood to reach equilibrium with local humidity levels.
Ensure you are using high-quality pilot holes, as C24 graded Scandinavian timber is dense due to the slow growth rings.
For optimal results, store the timber in a dry, well-ventilated area elevated off the ground to prevent moisture accumulation. When cutting, ensure you treat any exposed end grains with a suitable wood preservative to maintain the integrity of the initial factory treatment. Use stainless or galvanised fixings to prevent corrosion when interacting with the treated timber. This product is fully compatible with standard construction fasteners, adhesives, and sealants used in residential building projects.
