Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure both surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from dust or grease.
- Apply a small amount of the UV glue to one of the surfaces.
- Position the parts carefully, making any necessary adjustments.
- Expose the bonded area to a UV light source (e.g., a UV torch or dedicated curing lamp) for the duration recommended by the light source manufacturer, typically a few seconds to a minute, until the glue is fully hardened.
Compatibility:
This UV glue is compatible with a wide range of materials including plastics, metals, glass, and certain types of wood. It is particularly well-suited for hobby-grade plastics commonly found in model kits. Avoid using on materials that are opaque to UV light or that might react negatively with cyanoacrylate-based adhesives.
Care:
Store the glue in its original container with the lid tightly sealed in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight or UV exposure. Clean any excess uncured glue from the nozzle or container immediately after use. If skin bonding occurs, do not force parts apart; soak in warm, soapy water and gently try to separate. For uncured glue on surfaces, wipe away with a clean cloth. Once cured, the glue is generally inert but can be removed or softened with specific solvents if necessary, though this may damage the base materials.
