Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your Beko Under Counter Freezer performs optimally for years.
Initial Setup
- Unpack and Position: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Position the freezer in its desired location, ensuring there's adequate space around it for ventilation (typically a few inches on sides and back, and above).
- Leveling: Use a spirit level to ensure the freezer is perfectly level. Adjust the feet at the bottom until stable. This prevents vibration and ensures the door seals properly.
- Power Connection: Plug the freezer into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords.
- First Use: Allow the freezer to stand for at least 4 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle. After plugging in, let it run for a few hours empty to reach its operating temperature before loading food.
- Reversible Door (Professional Installation Recommended): The door hinges can be reversed to open from the left or right. Beko strongly recommends consulting a qualified installer (such as a Tech Expert) for this service. Improper reversal can affect the door seal and appliance performance.
Compatibility
- Under-Counter Fit: With dimensions of 840 x 540 x 590 mm (HxWxD), this freezer is designed to fit neatly under most standard kitchen counters.
- Ambient Temperature: `FreezerGuard technology` ensures compatibility with a wide range of ambient temperatures, specifically operating effectively down to -15ºC. This makes it ideal for locations like kitchens, utility rooms, garages, or outbuildings.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning the Interior: As it's `Frost Free`, you won't need to manually defrost. However, you should periodically wipe down the interior with a mild detergent solution and warm water. Ensure the freezer is unplugged before cleaning.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks, a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Keep the door gasket clean to ensure a tight seal.
- Door Seal Check: Regularly inspect the door seal for any cracks or gaps. A compromised seal can lead to energy loss and inefficient cooling. Clean the seal periodically to remove food debris.
- Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation grilles at the back and sides are not blocked, as this can affect cooling performance and energy efficiency.
