Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare the surface: Ensure the base is level, firm, and free from debris. A slight slope for drainage is recommended.
- Layout the tiles: Plan the layout to minimize cuts and create the desired pattern.
- Install the tiles: Place the tiles directly onto the prepared surface, using the integral bearers to ensure proper spacing and alignment. No fixings are needed, unless on a very windy and exposed area.
- Cut tiles as needed: Use a saw to trim tiles to fit around edges or obstacles.
Compatibility:
The tiles are compatible with most outdoor surfaces. Ensure the base is stable and capable of supporting the weight. Suitable for use with a variety of outdoor furniture and accessories. Avoid placing heavy objects directly on the tiles if the surface underneath is not well-prepared.
Care:
- Regular cleaning with a brush and soapy water will help maintain the tiles' appearance.
- Inspect the tiles periodically for any loose or damaged pieces.
- Apply a wood stain or sealant as needed to protect the timber from UV rays and moisture, especially to retain the color. Follow the sealant manufacturer's instructions for application and reapplication intervals.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the wood.
- In winter, clear snow and ice to prevent damage from freezing and thawing.
