Full details
The Homefire Instant Light Lumpwood Charcoal is designed for casual grillers and outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize convenience without sacrificing authentic barbecue flavor. By eliminating the need for separate firelighters or chemical lighter fluids, this product offers a rapid, clean-burning start for small to medium-sized grilling sessions. While it provides an efficient and hassle-free ignition process, users should note that the pre-packaged nature of the fuel is best suited for shorter cooking durations compared to large-format bulk briquettes.

FAQs
Can I use this charcoal indoors?
No. Never use charcoal grills indoors, in tents, or in enclosed spaces due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Do I need to add firelighters?
No, the packaging is designed to act as the firelighter. Adding extra fuel is unnecessary and may cause flare-ups.
How long does it stay hot?
The duration depends on the grill setup, but these 1kg bags are specifically portioned for efficient, medium-duration cooking sessions.
Is the charcoal sustainable?
Homefire utilizes high-quality lumpwood, which provides a natural, authentic fuel source for your grill.
What if the food tastes like chemicals?
Always wait until the flames have completely died down and the charcoal is covered in a light grey ash before placing your food on the grill.
Troubleshooting
Charcoal bag failing to ignite
Ensure the bag is kept in a dry environment prior to use. Dampness can prevent the ignition paper from catching fire effectively.
Excessive smoke during ignition
Ensure the charcoal is not packed too tightly in the grill and that there is adequate airflow beneath the grate.
Uneven cooking heat
Wait for the flames to fully subside and the charcoal to develop a layer of grey ash before beginning to cook.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best results, always use this charcoal in a well-ventilated outdoor barbecue or grill.
- Placement: Place the bag on the charcoal grate of your grill. Do not open or remove the charcoal from the bag before lighting.
- Ignition: Carefully light the corners of the paper bag. Allow the flames to die down completely before placing food on the grill rack.
- Compatibility: This product is compatible with most charcoal grills, kamado-style cookers, and portable barbecue units.
- Storage: Keep the remaining 1kg bag in a cool, dry place away from moisture. Moisture can compromise the ignition chemicals in the packaging.
