Product Information

Full details

The Guru Zero 400 Sky Power Top 7mm is designed for competitive anglers who frequent commercial fisheries and require a specialized top kit for shallow water fishing. Its key benefit lies in the stiff, lightweight Zero400 carbon construction that improves bite detection and landing speed; however, the 1.8m fixed length may limit versatility for those targeting deeper water or requiring longer reach configurations.

FAQs

Is this top kit compatible with other brands?

This kit is specifically designed for and compatible with all poles in the Guru range.

Can I use this for deep water fishing?

While it functions in various depths, it is optimized for shallow work due to the sky paint finish and stiff construction.

What is the largest elastic size I can use?

The 7mm bore is perfectly suited for thick elastics rated 20+.

Do I need to buy a bush separately?

No, it comes with a pre-fitted internal PTFE bush as standard.

How do I align the spine of the pole?

Use the performance indicator mark at the bottom of the section to align it with the corresponding mark on your second section.

Can I install a side puller on this kit?

Yes, the base is reinforced with 30cm of double carbon wrapping specifically to facilitate the installation of side pullers or bungs.

Troubleshooting

Elastic feels sluggish or sticky

Clean the internal bore with a specialist elastic lubricant and ensure the PTFE bush is free of debris.

The kit feels less stiff than expected

Rotate the top kit by 180 degrees or adjust the spine alignment marker to ensure it matches the second section's natural backbone.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Increased stiffness improves strike speed
Ready to fish right out of the box
Ideal for heavy elastic setups on commercial waters
Compatible across the entire Guru pole range

Cons

Specific 1.8m length may not suit all pole configurations
Designed primarily for shallow fishing
Requires professional customization if installing a side puller

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This top kit is fully compatible with all poles in the current Guru range. To set up, verify the alignment marks align with your existing pole sections to achieve maximum rigidity. If installing a side puller, utilize the reinforced 30cm section at the base; ensure you use high-quality tools to prevent splintering the carbon.

To care for your top kit, always clean the sections with a damp cloth after each session to remove groundbait, salt, or debris. Avoid overtightening pole connectors and always store in a rigid protective tube to prevent crushing during transit.
