The Clarke CDM45C is an essential tool for electricians, automotive technicians, and DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable, all-in-one diagnostic solution for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Its primary strength lies in its 11-function versatility and intuitive 32-position rotary switch, making complex measurements simple to execute; however, users should note that while it is robust for most applications, it is designed primarily for standard trade and residential use rather than high-energy industrial environments.

Yes, the CDM45C can measure AC current up to 10A.
Yes, a 9V battery is included in the package.
The meter is rated for both AC and DC voltage up to 600V.
Turn the rotary switch to the audible continuity setting; the meter will beep when a closed circuit is detected between the probes.
Yes, a Type K thermocouple fine wire and an adaptor are included for temperature measurements.
Yes, the meter features an hFE mode for testing transistor gain using the provided adaptor.
The 9V battery is likely depleted; replace it with a fresh battery.
Ensure the rotary switch is set to the correct measurement mode and check that probes are fully seated in the input jacks.
Check if the test leads are damaged and verify that you have selected the appropriate range for the magnitude of the signal you are measuring.
To set up the meter, install the included 9V battery by removing the rear casing screw. Always ensure the test probes are inserted into the correct jacks: the black lead in the 'COM' port and the red lead in the appropriate 'V/Ω' or 'A' port.
For maintenance, keep the meter dry and free from dust. When not in use for extended periods, remove the 9V battery to prevent leakage. Wipe the casing with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid using solvents, as these can degrade the plastic housing. Store the probes carefully to prevent cable kinks, which can lead to intermittent readings over time.
