FAQs

Is this food suitable for adult cats?

No, this specific product is formulated as a complementary food for kittens under 12 months of age. Adult cats have different nutritional needs.

How much Applaws Kitten Food should I feed my kitten?

This is a complementary food. You should feed it alongside a complete kitten dry food. Refer to the feeding guidelines on your chosen dry food and adjust based on your kitten's age, activity level, and condition. A general guideline is to offer 1-2 pouches per day alongside dry food.

What does 'complementary pet food' mean?

It means the food provides beneficial nutrients and palatability but does not contain all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and nutrients required for a complete and balanced diet on its own. It must be fed in conjunction with a complete food.

Can I feed this to my kitten if they have sensitive digestion?

Applaws uses simple, natural ingredients which are generally well-tolerated. However, if your kitten has known sensitivities or a history of digestive issues, introduce it slowly and monitor their reaction. Consult your vet if you have concerns.

What is the shelf life of an unopened tin?

Unopened tins typically have a long shelf life, indicated by the best before date printed on the tin. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Does this product contain any grains?

The ingredients list specifies Tuna Fillet and Rice Flour. Rice is a grain.

How should I recycle the packaging?

The cardboard box should be flattened and recycled with cardboard. The tin should be rinsed, the label removed, and recycled with metal. The plastic shrink wrap can typically be recycled with shopping bags at designated collection points.

Troubleshooting

Kitten refuses to eat the food.

Ensure the food is served at room temperature. Try mixing a small amount with their current favorite food, or gently warming it. Kittens can be fussy, so persistence or trying a different flavor from the Applaws range might help.

Food appears dry or separated.

This can sometimes happen with natural products. Stir the contents of the tin thoroughly before serving to mix the jelly and solids.

Kitten experiences digestive upset.

Introduce new foods gradually. If symptoms persist, consult your veterinarian to rule out any underlying issues or allergies.
