The tool is designed to expand between 3mm and 15mm.
No, this tool is intended for use with standard 10mm hand tools only. Impact tools may exceed the 13Nm torque limit.
While it is a universal tool, it is primarily tested and known for compatibility with European brands like Audi, BMW, Ford, and VW. Compatibility depends on the specific hub design.
Exceeding the torque limit may cause the internal threads to strip or the tool body to deform, rendering it unusable.
Keep the tool clean and dry. Regularly apply a light machine oil to the drive screw threads to maintain smooth operation.
Ensure the hub split is free of debris and that the spreader is seated as deep as possible into the channel.
Clean the threads of any grit, apply a small amount of lubricant, and ensure you are not exceeding the force limits.
To set up the tool, ensure the hub split is clean of heavy road grime or rust to allow the spreader to seat properly. It is compatible with most European passenger vehicles featuring 3mm to 15mm split hubs. For care, wipe down the drive screw after each use and apply a light coating of machine oil to the threads to prevent binding. Do not use an impact wrench; always use hand tools and ensure you do not exceed the 13Nm maximum torque rating to avoid thread stripping.
