The From The Anvil Avon Locking Night Vent Window Fastener is designed for homeowners and renovators seeking a blend of authentic craftsmanship and modern security for their casement windows. This hand-forged steel fastener offers the unique benefit of a locking night-vent function, allowing for controlled ventilation while maintaining security, though it requires regular maintenance due to its traditional Beeswax finish which is susceptible to moisture in high-humidity areas.

Yes, the product is reversible and includes two different keep plates to accommodate both handing styles.
While it can be used on exterior windows, the Beeswax finish requires regular maintenance to protect the steel from moisture and environmental elements.
The product is constructed from solid steel, hand-forged using traditional techniques.
No, this model uses a manual grub screw mechanism to secure the fastener in place.
Yes, it is specifically designed to be compatible with weather-stripped casement windows.
The authentic color is a natural result of the forging and waxing process; regular applications of beeswax will maintain the depth and finish.
Check that the keep plates are correctly aligned and not obstructed by paint buildup; apply a small amount of beeswax to the contact points.
Gently remove the rust with a soft cloth or fine wire wool and re-apply a layer of beeswax to reseal the metal surface.
Use a compatible Allen key to tighten the grub screw, ensuring the handle is properly seated against the keep plate.
Installation is straightforward using the supplied wood screws. Ensure you align the fixing plate (64mm x 16mm) correctly to ensure the handle sits flush against the window frame. For compatibility, verify your window frame can accommodate the 27mm keep projection. Maintenance is critical for the Beeswax finish; it is recommended to wipe the fastener periodically with a soft cloth and apply a light coat of high-quality beeswax to preserve the metal and prevent oxidation. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these will strip the protective wax layer.
