Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure timber surfaces are clean and aligned correctly.
- Positioning: Place the angle bracket at the desired connection point, ensuring a 90-degree angle.
- Fastening: Use appropriate fasteners (screws, nails, or bolts) recommended for the timber type and the required load capacity. Refer to the Simpson Strong-Tie specifications for fastener recommendations.
- Inspection: Verify that the bracket is securely fastened and properly aligned.
Compatibility
The angle bracket is compatible with various types of timber. Always check the fastener compatibility with the timber to ensure optimal performance. The pre-galvanized steel is suitable for both interior and exterior applications, providing corrosion resistance.
Care
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the brackets for any signs of damage or corrosion.
- Maintenance: Clean the brackets as needed with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the galvanized coating.
- Protection: In harsh environments, consider additional protection, such as painting or coating, to extend the bracket's lifespan.
