Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Ensure the exhaust pipe is cool to the touch and clean the damaged area with a wire brush or sandpaper to remove rust and debris.
- Application: Apply a generous amount of Holts Gun Gum exhaust paste to the damaged area.
- Placement: Wrap the Metal Repair Bandage around the damaged section, ensuring it covers the hole or crack completely.
- Securing: Tighten the bandage to the manufacturer's recommendations. Ensure the bandage is applied to straight pipes, catalytic converters, and backboxes only.
- Curing: Allow the exhaust system to cool before starting the engine. Follow the instructions on the exhaust paste for curing time.
Compatibility: The Metal Repair Bandage is designed for use on straight pipes, catalytic converters, and backboxes. It's not intended for use on curved sections or areas with significant bends. Ensure compatibility by checking the dimensions and shape of the damaged area.
Care: Regularly inspect the repair for any signs of deterioration or leaks. The longevity of the repair depends on the condition of the exhaust system and driving conditions. In harsh conditions, the bandage may require earlier replacement.
