Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The watch is powered by an automatic movement, meaning it self-winds with the motion of the wearer's wrist. If the watch has stopped, wind the crown approximately 30-40 turns clockwise while in the closed position to build up an initial power reserve. Ensure the crown is fully screwed down after setting the time to maintain water resistance.
Compatibility: The PRX Powermatic 80 is designed as a standalone timepiece. Its compatibility is primarily related to strap replacement. The watch utilizes a quick-release bracelet system, meaning standard spring bars are not used. Compatible replacement straps will need to be specifically designed for the Tissot PRX case profile.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: While many PRX models offer some level of water resistance (check specific rating, typically 100m for this series), it is advisable to avoid prolonged immersion or high-pressure water exposure. Ensure the crown is always screwed down before exposure to water.
- Servicing: Automatic watches generally require servicing every 3-5 years to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Consult an authorized Tissot service center.
