Troubleshooting
Pergola appears unstable after assembly
Ensure all fixings are tightened securely. Verify that the corner posts are plumb and properly anchored to the ground or footings. Check that the ground is level and firm.
Difficulty slotting rafters/runners into place
Ensure components are aligned correctly and free from debris. Gentle tapping with a rubber mallet may help, but avoid excessive force. Confirm you are using the correct parts for the intended location.
Wood shows signs of weathering or discolouration
This is natural weathering. Apply a suitable exterior wood treatment, sealant, or stain annually to protect the wood and restore its appearance. Ensure the wood is clean and dry before application.
Hole for post foot is not drilling cleanly
Ensure the drill bit is sharp and the drill is set to the appropriate speed. If drilling into a seasoned post, pre-drilling a smaller pilot hole can help. Use the provided flat drill bit for best results on the base of the post.
