FAQs

What is the height of the festoon pole?

The festoon pole measures 160cm (1.6 meters) in height once installed.

Is assembly required?

Yes, the pole comes in two sections that need to be connected together before installation.

Can this pole be used in hard or rocky ground?

The pole is designed to be secured into soft ground. It may be difficult or impossible to install in very hard, rocky, or paved surfaces without additional mounting hardware not included.

Is the pole suitable for year-round outdoor use?

Yes, it is constructed from steel with a weatherproof black powder coating and is IP44-rated for water resistance, making it suitable for all-weather conditions.

How many poles should I buy?

The number of poles depends on your desired display. For a simple line, two poles might suffice. For a more elaborate setup, using multiple poles spaced out to swag lights between them is recommended.

What is the diameter of the pole?

The pole has a diameter of 14.2mm.

Can I hang very heavy lights on this pole?

The pole is designed for standard festoon and string lights. For excessively heavy items, ensure the ground is very firm and consider using multiple poles for weight distribution.

Troubleshooting

Pole is wobbly or unstable.

Ensure the ground is soft enough for the spike to penetrate deeply. If the ground is hard, consider moistening it or using a rubber mallet to gently tap the pole into place. Check that the two sections are fully connected.

Difficult to insert the spike into the ground.

The pole is designed for soft ground. If the ground is too hard, try watering the area first. Alternatively, consider an alternative mounting solution if suitable ground is unavailable.

Rust appears on the pole.

While weatherproof, prolonged exposure to harsh elements may cause minor surface rust over time. Lightly sand the affected area and reapply a compatible black outdoor paint or sealant. Ensure the initial coating remains intact.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: To set up the pole, simply connect the two metal sections. Once assembled, firmly push the 16cm ground spike into soft, level ground until the base is secure. Ensure the pole is stable before attaching lights.

Compatibility: This pole is designed to support festoon lights, string lights, and lanterns. It is compatible with most standard outdoor lighting solutions that can be hung from a hook or loop.

Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. The weatherproof black powder coating is designed for outdoor use, but occasional cleaning will maintain its appearance. Store indoors during extreme weather or prolonged periods of non-use to maximize lifespan, though it is built for year-round outdoor exposure.
