The US PRO 16-inch Groove Joint Water Pump Pliers are designed for professional tradespeople and serious DIY enthusiasts who require substantial leverage for heavy-duty plumbing or mechanical tasks. These pliers excel at gripping oversized pipes and large fasteners due to their impressive 120mm jaw capacity, though their large 16-inch frame may be unwieldy for confined spaces or delicate, precision-based assembly work.

The jaws can open to a working length of approximately 120mm.
While they can handle household tasks, their size is better suited for heavy-duty or industrial projects.
They are manufactured from high-quality, durable chrome vanadium steel.
You adjust the jaw by loosening the integrated nut and bolt, sliding the mechanism to the desired setting, and tightening the bolt back down.
These pliers are metal and conduct electricity; they should not be used on live electrical circuits.
Ensure the integrated nut and bolt are tightened sufficiently to lock the jaw position in the desired groove.
Clear any debris or grit from the grooves and apply a small amount of lubricating oil to the pivot area.
To set up the pliers, loosen the integrated nut and bolt to slide the jaws into the desired position, then tighten securely before use. These tools are compatible with most standard pipe fittings and large hex bolts found in industrial settings. Maintenance is simple: wipe the chrome vanadium steel clean after exposure to moisture to prevent oxidation, and occasionally apply a light machine oil to the pivot point and adjustment slot to ensure the sliding mechanism remains smooth and responsive.
