Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the PP1984 is straightforward, as it replaces the stock filter directly within your existing airbox. To install, simply open your vehicle's airbox, remove the old paper filter, clean out any loose debris from the box, and drop the Pipercross element into place.
Care instructions are critical for maintaining the warranty and performance:
- Cleaning: Remove the filter and use a specialized Pipercross cleaning solution to wash away contaminants.
- Drying: Allow the filter to air dry completely; never use high-pressure air, as it can damage the foam structure.
- Oiling: Apply a light, even coat of the appropriate Pipercross oil to ensure proper dust-trapping capability.
- Frequency: Inspect the filter every 5,000 to 10,000 miles, or more frequently if driving in exceptionally dusty conditions.
