Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This tool requires no complex setup. Ensure the bar is clean and free of debris before use. To convert between clamp and spreader modes, locate the mechanism on the sliding jaw and follow its operational instructions (typically involving reversing the screw direction or engaging a secondary lock).
Compatibility: The clamp is compatible with most common woodworking and light metalworking tasks. Its jaws are designed to grip flat and moderately irregular surfaces. It is not intended for use with extremely soft materials that could be easily damaged by the clamping pressure, nor for lifting heavy objects.
Care: To maintain performance, regularly clean the steel bar and the ratcheting mechanism to remove sawdust, metal shavings, or other debris. A light application of lubricating oil on the bar and moving parts can prevent rust and ensure smooth operation. Inspect the plastic caps periodically and replace them if they become significantly worn or damaged to protect your workpieces.
