Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing: Sow seeds from March to May. Choose a location that receives full sun or partial shade.
Soil: Ensure the soil is kept consistently moist, particularly during dry periods. Good drainage is also beneficial.
Temperature: This is a hardy perennial, suitable for UK conditions. It can withstand cooler temperatures once established.
Feeding: Sorrel 'Volare' typically does not require frequent feeding. A general-purpose fertilizer can be optionally applied if desired.
Humidity: Normal outdoor humidity levels are tolerated. Ensure good air circulation around the plants.
Harvesting: Regularly pick the tender young leaves. To maintain productivity and encourage more leaf growth, remove any flower stalks that appear.
Containers: If planting in containers, use a good quality potting mix and ensure the pot has drainage holes. Keep containers well-watered.
