The BlueSpot 8 Piece Wood Drill Bit Set is designed for woodworkers, DIY enthusiasts, and trade professionals who require clean, precise boring in timber and engineered boards. This set excels at delivering rapid, splinter-free entry thanks to its specialized geometry; however, it is strictly intended for wood and softer composite boards and should not be used on masonry or hardened metal.

No, these are specialized wood bits. Using them on metal will instantly ruin the cutting edge and damage the spur.
The set includes eight bits sized 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, and 10mm.
No, they are compatible with standard drill chucks found on most power and hand drills.
Using the sharp spur feature helps, but for very brittle woods, clamping a sacrificial piece of scrap wood behind the target hole will significantly reduce splintering.
While it is technically possible for an experienced person with a fine diamond hone to touch up the lips, the complex geometry of the spur makes professional sharpening difficult and is generally not recommended for the average user.
Use a center punch or a small pilot dimple to give the spur a clear starting point before applying pressure.
Reduce the drill speed or apply less pressure. If the issue persists, the bit may be dull or have excessive resin buildup that needs cleaning.
Ensure you are using a backing board behind the workpiece and verify that the drill is held perpendicular to the surface.
This set features standard straight shanks compatible with most corded and cordless power drills, as well as manual hand drills. Ensure your drill chuck is tightened evenly around the shank to prevent slipping.
Maintenance is simple: keep the bits dry to prevent surface oxidation. If the bits become coated in resin or sap from softwoods, clean them with a suitable solvent or degreaser. Store the bits in their provided case after every use, rather than leaving them loose in a tool bag, to protect the precision-ground spurs from impact damage.
