Product Information
Full details
The evergreen Arbutus with its cherry laurel-like leaves produces beautiful strawberry-like fruits that are good to eat and come in different colors, from bright yellow to orange-red to bright red. From the fruits you can make jam or liqueur as in Corsica. In Sardinia you can even get the flower honey called "Amaro di Cobezzolo". Since the fruit ripening usually takes many months, the new buds, the beautiful white flowers and the tasty fruits are often present on the tree at the same time. The strawberry tree tolerates frost and can not only be cultivated well as a tub plant, but can also be planted outdoors in regions with mild winters, where it grows to a height of three to five meters in a sunny spot. The strawberry tree prefers a sunny location.
