Setup, Compatibility & Care
When you receive your tree, ensure the 7.5-litre pot is kept moist until you are ready to transplant it. Dig a hole twice the width of the pot and deep enough so the top of the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil. Backfill with a mix of native soil and organic compost. Water the tree thoroughly immediately after planting and maintain a regular watering schedule during its first season to help it establish deep roots. Pruning should be kept to a minimum; if necessary, remove any dead or crossing branches in late summer to avoid issues with silver leaf or bacterial canker which can enter fresh pruning wounds in winter.
