Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure both vehicles are turned off and parked safely, with the parking brake engaged.
- Connect the red (+) clamp of the battery cable to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery.
- Connect the other red (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the donor battery.
- Connect the black (-) clamp of the battery cable to the negative (-) terminal of the donor battery.
- Connect the final black (-) clamp to a bare metal grounding point on the engine block or chassis of the vehicle with the dead battery, away from the battery itself.
- Start the engine of the donor vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.
- Attempt to start the vehicle with the dead battery.
- Once the vehicle starts, carefully remove the cables in the reverse order: black from ground, black from donor battery, red from donor battery, red from dead battery.
Compatibility:
This cable is designed for trucks and commercial vehicles up to 7.0 L displacement. It is suitable for jump-starting vehicles with 12V battery systems. Using it on smaller vehicles is possible but may be unnecessarily bulky.
Care:
- After each use, wipe the clamps and cables clean with a dry cloth.
- Store the cables in the provided nylon bag to protect them from dirt, moisture, and damage.
- Inspect the cables and clamps regularly for any signs of wear, cracks, or corrosion. Replace if damaged.
- Keep the clamps and terminals clean for optimal conductivity.
