FAQs
Does the pedestal come assembled?
No, the Impulse Mobile Pedestal is delivered flat-packed and requires assembly.
Can I remove the castors?
While the castors are designed for mobility, you can technically leave them off if you prefer a static unit, though this is not the recommended configuration.
Are the drawers suitable for hanging files?
The drawers are standard box drawers; they do not include built-in rails for hanging files.
How do I secure the pedestal?
The unit comes with a key-operated lock that secures all three drawers simultaneously.
What is the finish made of?
It is finished with a durable, heat-resistant melamine coating.
Is the unit heavy?
Due to the thick 25mm top and 18mm back board, it is a sturdy and relatively heavy piece of furniture, which contributes to its overall stability.
Troubleshooting
Drawer feels stiff or does not slide smoothly
Check that the drawer is properly aligned on the runners and ensure no debris is stuck in the track.
The lock is difficult to turn
Ensure the drawers are pushed fully closed so the locking mechanism can engage correctly without resistance.
The unit feels wobbly
Check all steel-to-steel fixings and tighten any loose screws to restore structural integrity.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
For assembly, ensure you have a screwdriver and a flat workspace. The unit uses steel-to-steel fixings, so tighten them firmly but avoid over-torquing the screws to protect the melamine finish. Compatibility-wise, the dimensions are designed to fit under standard-height office desks. For daily care, wipe the unit down with a damp, lint-free cloth. To remove stubborn marks, a mild household cleaner can be used, but avoid abrasive pads that might scratch the finish. Periodically check that the castors are free of hair or carpet fibers to maintain smooth mobility.
