Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Clean the damaged aluminium area thoroughly using the included wire brush or other suitable tool. This removes any oxidation or debris that could affect the repair.
- Heating: Apply heat to the aluminium using your chosen heat source. The area should be heated until it reaches the melting point of the brazing rods.
- Application: Touch the brazing rod to the heated area. The rod should melt and flow into the damaged area.
- Cooling: Allow the repaired area to cool completely. Do not quench with water.
- Finishing: Once cooled, the repaired area can be filed, sanded, or otherwise finished to match the original surface.
Compatibility: This system works with a wide range of aluminium alloys, including zinc, magnesium, pot metal, and cast aluminium.
Care: Store the brazing rods in a dry place. Keep the wire brush clean. Always use appropriate safety gear, including eye protection, gloves, and a well-ventilated area when using the repair system.
