Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up your Living and Home Dog Ramp is straightforward, ensuring your pet can use it quickly and safely.
Setup Instructions
- Unfold the Ramp: Place the folded ramp on a flat, stable surface. Release any locking mechanisms and carefully unfold the ramp into its full 170cm length.
- Position Securely: Place the top edge of the ramp onto the target surface (e.g., car boot, tailgate, side door sill). Ensure the ramp is resting flush and stably, with no gaps or wobbling. The bottom end should be firmly on the ground.
- Check Stability: Before inviting your dog, apply gentle pressure to the ramp to confirm it's secure and won't slip or tip. Make sure the angle is not too steep for your dog.
Compatibility
- Dog Size: Designed for large dogs. While smaller dogs can use it, the width and length are optimized for larger breeds.
- Vehicle Types: Compatible with most SUVs, trucks, minivans, and cars with a boot or side door opening that can securely support the ramp's top edge. Ensure the height difference between the ground and the vehicle's entry point creates a manageable incline for your dog.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: For general dirt or paw prints on the felt tread, use a damp cloth and mild soap. For stubborn dirt or mud, a soft brush can be used gently. Allow to air dry completely before folding and storing.
- Storage: Fold the ramp into its compact sections and store it in a dry place. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions to preserve the metal frame and felt tread.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the ramp for any signs of wear, damage, or loose parts, especially the hinges and the felt tread. Ensure the non-slip properties of the felt are maintained.
- Safety: Always supervise your dog's first few uses to ensure they are comfortable and confident. Never use the ramp if it appears damaged or unstable.
