The Faithfull Aluminium Oxide Sanding Paper Roll (FAIAR560R) is a durable, versatile abrasive solution designed for both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts who need to prepare surfaces for painting or finishing. Featuring a high-quality 60-grit coarse abrasive on a robust E-Weight paper backing, it is exceptionally efficient at stripping old paint and smoothing rough surfaces on wood, metal, and plastics. While it offers excellent material removal capabilities, users should note that the 60-grit finish is relatively aggressive and will require follow-up with finer-grit paper to achieve a professional-grade smooth surface.

This paper features an E-Weight paper backing, which is generally intended for dry sanding applications.
No, 60-grit is too coarse for between-coat sanding. You should use a much finer grit (240 or above) for that purpose.
Keep it in a dry, room-temperature environment, ideally in its original packaging to protect it from dust and humidity.
It is 115mm wide, which fits most half-sheet sanders; verify your tool's manual for specific paper width requirements.
Yes, the Aluminium Oxide abrasive is effective at removing rust and preparing metal surfaces for primer.
This specific roll is 5 meters in length.
Ensure the sanding block or sander plate is not exerting uneven pressure and check that the paper is securely fastened.
Use a sanding belt cleaner or a stiff brush to remove dust build-up between the abrasive grits.
The 60-grit is meant for rough work; switch to a 120-grit or higher paper to refine the surface after the initial removal.
To prepare the paper for use, measure the surface you intend to sand and use a sharp utility knife or scissors to cut the required length from the 5-meter roll. If using a mechanical half-sheet sander, ensure the paper is clamped firmly at both ends to prevent slippage. When storing, keep the roll in a cool, dry environment to prevent the backing from absorbing moisture, which can degrade the adhesive bonds holding the abrasive particles. If the paper becomes clogged with sawdust or paint, use a sanding cleaner stick to remove the debris and extend the working life of the sheet.
