Setup, Compatibility & Care
This section guides you on preparing your skin, understanding product compatibility, and maintaining your foundation for optimal use.
Skin Preparation
- Cleanse & Moisturize: Always start with a freshly cleansed and moisturized face. This creates a smooth canvas for application and helps the product adhere better.
- Primer Use: For extended wear and an even smoother base, apply a face primer suitable for your skin type. A mattifying primer is excellent for oily skin, while a hydrating primer benefits normal to dry skin.
- Sun Protection: If your skincare routine includes SPF, apply it before your primer and foundation.
Compatibility
- Skin Types: Best suited for normal to oily and combination skin types due to its matte finish and oil-controlling properties. Those with dry skin should ensure thorough moisturizing and potentially use a hydrating primer to prevent it from looking powdery or clinging to dry patches.
- Layering: This powder foundation can be applied over liquid foundation or concealer for added coverage and setting, or used alone as a primary base.
- Tools: Designed for use with the included sponge applicator for higher coverage, or a foundation brush (like a kabuki or dense buffing brush) for a more diffused, natural finish.
Product Care
- Storage: Store the compact in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its texture and efficacy.
- Clean Applicator: Regularly clean the included sponge applicator with mild soap and water, allowing it to air dry completely. A dirty applicator can harbor bacteria and lead to uneven application or breakouts. If using a brush, clean it regularly as well.
- Secure Closure: Ensure the compact is always closed securely after each use to prevent the powder from drying out (though less of a concern with powder) or becoming contaminated.
