FAQs

What is the maximum speed of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Max?

The scooter has a top speed of 25 km/h.

Can I ride this scooter in the rain?

Yes, it features an IPX6 rating, meaning it is protected against water jets, but it should not be submerged or ridden in extreme flooding.

How much does the scooter weigh?

Due to its high-performance battery and motor, it is a heavier model designed for durability; please refer to your regional manual for specific weight metrics.

How long does it take to charge?

Charging times vary based on remaining battery level, but a full charge typically takes several hours due to the large high-capacity battery.

Are the tires tubeless?

Yes, it comes with 12-inch tubeless tires which provide better handling and puncture resistance.

Troubleshooting

Scooter fails to accelerate despite motor being on

Check if the kick-start feature is enabled; the scooter requires an initial push to 3-5 km/h before the throttle engages for safety.

Reduced range on a single charge

Verify tire pressure; low pressure increases rolling resistance. Also, check if you are riding in Sport mode constantly, as this drains the battery faster.

Brakes feel weak or unresponsive

Check the disc brake tension. If the levers touch the handlebars, adjust the cable tension or have the pads inspected for wear.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional 70 km battery range
High-torque motor handles inclines up to 24%
Integrated indicators enhance road safety
Durable IPX6 water resistance rating
Large 12-inch tires offer superior ride quality

Cons

Heavier frame compared to lighter city scooters
Longer charging time required for the large capacity battery
Physical size makes it less ideal for small storage spaces

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Upon unboxing, ensure the handlebars are securely tightened using the provided toolset. Before the first ride, charge the battery to 100% capacity. It is recommended to perform a firmware check via the companion smartphone application if available to ensure all motor and lighting features are optimized.

For ongoing care, keep the tire pressure consistent with the manufacturer's recommended PSI to optimize range and prevent premature wear. Clean the deck and frame with a damp cloth; avoid using high-pressure water hoses despite the IPX6 rating, as prolonged high-pressure exposure can degrade seals over time. Regularly check the disc brake pads and tighten the folding mechanism to ensure a vibration-free ride.
