Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The brushes are ready to use out of the box. It's recommended to condition new natural bristle brushes by soaking them briefly in lukewarm water and gently shaping the bristles before their first use.
Compatibility: Primarily designed for oil paints. While they can be used with acrylics or watercolors, care must be taken as these mediums can dry faster and be harder to clean from natural bristles, potentially damaging them over time.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, gently clean brushes with a brush cleaner specifically designed for oil paints or with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents. Remove excess paint by wiping on a cloth or paper towel.
- Shaping: Gently reshape the bristles with your fingers after cleaning.
- Drying: Store brushes bristles-up or flat to air dry. Never leave them standing in water, as this can damage the glue and wood.
- Storage: Once completely dry, store brushes in a dry place. A brush case or container that keeps the bristles protected and unbent is ideal. Avoid storing them in airtight plastic bags, which can trap moisture.
