FAQs

Is this jacket machine washable?

Yes, it can be machine washed on a cool, gentle cycle. Avoid using fabric softeners.

Can the hood be removed?

Yes, the jacket features a detachable hood that can be taken off when not needed.

Is the jacket suitable for heavy winter?

It provides good insulation, but for deep winter or sub-zero temperatures, it is best used as part of a layering system.

Does it have pockets for small items?

Yes, it is equipped with two zip pockets for secure storage.

How do I adjust the cuffs?

The cuffs include adjustable fasteners to tighten the fit around the wrists.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking into the fabric rather than beading

The waterproof coating may be wearing off; consider reapplying a standard DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray after a gentle wash.

Zip is sticking

Clean the teeth of the zipper with a soft brush to remove any dirt or grit, then lubricate slightly with a graphite pencil tip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Effective waterproof protection
Extra warmth from insulated interior
Detachable hood for versatility
Customizable fit with adjustable cuffs
Secure storage with zippered pockets

Cons

Requires careful washing to preserve waterproofing
Polyester material may not be as breathable as high-end technical shells
Blue color may show dirt more easily than darker shades

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maximize the lifespan of the jacket, ensure the hook-and-loop or elastic adjustments on the cuffs are fastened before storing. When cleaning, it is best to machine wash on a gentle, cool cycle. Avoid using heavy detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the waterproof coating from the polyester fabric. Air dry the jacket whenever possible; avoid placing it directly against a radiator or using a high-heat tumble dry setting, as this can damage the insulation and the outer membrane. Regularly check the zippers to ensure they remain free of debris.
