Setup, Compatibility & Care
For the best results, plant these bulbs in autumn in well-draining soil. Dig a hole approximately 10-15cm deep, placing the bulb with the pointed end facing upward. If planting in pots, ensure the container has adequate drainage holes to prevent bulb rot during the wetter winter months.
After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally—do not cut it down immediately—as the leaves are necessary for the bulb to store energy for next year's growth. Once the leaves have turned yellow and withered, they can be removed. These bulbs are fully hardy and can remain in the ground year-round in most climates, making them a low-maintenance, perennial favorite.
