Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installing these grips is a straightforward process, but proper technique ensures they remain secure. Before sliding the grips on, ensure your handlebars are clean and free of rust or old adhesive residue. Applying a light mist of rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner to the inside of the grip and the bar can help them slide on easily; once the solvent evaporates, the grips will adhere firmly to the bars.
Avoid using hairspray or WD-40, as these can create a slick surface or compromise the rubber integrity over time. To clean your grips, simply use mild soap and water with a soft brush to remove dirt trapped in the ribs. Allow them to air dry completely. For maximum longevity, avoid resting your bike or scooter against abrasive concrete walls, as the soft rubber compound can tear if dragged along rough surfaces.
