Troubleshooting

Difficulty aligning logs during assembly

Ensure logs are clean and free of debris. Minor adjustments can be made by gently tapping logs into place. Check that the base is perfectly level.

Condensation on windows

Ensure adequate ventilation by opening doors or windows when possible. Check that the double glazing seals are intact. Improve air circulation if the cabin is used as a fully sealed space.

Warping of timber components

This can occur due to changes in humidity. Ensure the cabin is treated with appropriate wood preservatives and that ventilation is adequate. Proper storage of parts before assembly can also help.

Leaking roof

Confirm that roofing felt (if purchased) has been installed correctly. Check for any gaps or damage to the roof structure and address them promptly. Ensure the roof angle allows for adequate water runoff.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: A firm, level base is essential for the stability and longevity of the log cabin. Professional assembly services may be available, or assembly can be undertaken by the user, though it requires careful attention to instructions and potentially multiple individuals. Ensure all components are present and undamaged before starting.

Compatibility: This cabin is designed as a standalone garden structure. Ensure adequate space is available around the structure for access and to avoid obstructions. Electrical or plumbing installations would require professional adaptation and may be subject to local regulations.

Care: The timber construction requires regular maintenance to preserve its appearance and durability. Treat the exterior timber annually with a suitable wood preservative or stain to protect against UV rays and moisture. Regularly check and clean gutters if installed, and ensure the base remains clear of debris. Inspect seals around windows and doors periodically.
