The RaceFace Atlas Stem is designed for All Mountain, Freeride, and Downhill riders who demand a balance of high-strength durability and weight efficiency. Built from 6061-T6 aluminum, it provides robust clamping power for aggressive trail riding; however, potential buyers should note that it is strictly compatible with 31.8mm handlebar diameters and is not suitable for oversized 35mm bar standards.

No, this stem is strictly designed for 31.8mm diameter handlebars.
The RaceFace Atlas Stem features a 0-degree rise.
While it is designed for DH and Freeride, it is light enough for All Mountain use, though it may be heavier than a dedicated XC stem.
Always use a torque wrench and an alternating cross-pattern to ensure even clamping pressure.
It is CNC-machined from high-strength 6061-T6 aluminum.
Verify that your handlebar surface is clean and free of debris. Ensure all four faceplate bolts are tightened to the recommended torque spec in a cross-pattern.
Remove the faceplate, clean the contact areas of the handlebar and stem, apply a thin layer of friction paste, and re-torque the bolts.
When installing the RaceFace Atlas Stem, ensure your steerer tube is cut to the proper length and that you have the correct headset spacers installed. Because of the opposing bolt design on the steerer clamp, it is critical to tighten the bolts in an alternating 'X' pattern to ensure even pressure distribution. Always use a torque wrench to prevent over-tightening, as exceeding the manufacturer-recommended torque settings can damage the aluminum threads. Periodically check all four faceplate bolts and the two steerer bolts for proper tension after your first few rides, especially following heavy use in wet or dusty conditions. The stem is designed specifically for 31.8mm handlebars and should not be used with shim adapters.
