Yes, it is made from natural jute fibers and is commonly used for pet-safe cat scratching posts.
Absolutely. It is strong enough for staking plants and, as a natural fiber, it is fully biodegradable.
As a natural product, it has a faint, earthy, woody scent, which typically dissipates after being unwound.
It is a coarse, fibrous string, which makes it perfect for gripping and tying, but it is not soft to the touch.
The roll contains 165 feet (50 meters) of twine.
Yes, you can use acrylic paints or fabric dyes to customize the color of the jute for specific craft projects.
Apply a small amount of glue to the tip or tie a knot at the end of the strand to keep the 4-ply structure secure.
This is a natural characteristic of jute; keep the twine taut and avoid unnecessary abrasive friction to minimize shedding.
Ensure the coil is resting on a flat surface and pull the twine from the outer edge to prevent the inner loops from tightening.
To begin using the twine, simply pull the end from the center or edge of the coil; the product is designed to unwind smoothly without tangling. If you find the twine unraveling at the cut end, you can wrap a small piece of clear tape around the tip or tie a simple overhand knot to maintain the twist.
While the twine is naturally resistant to the elements, store the remaining coil in a dry, cool area away from direct sunlight to prevent the natural fibers from becoming brittle over time. If using outdoors, keep in mind that consistent exposure to rain will eventually initiate the natural decomposition process.
