Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup
- Setting the Time: Pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch) out to its outermost position (usually the second click). Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Push the crown back in completely to start the watch.
- Setting the Date: Pull the crown out to the first click. Turn the crown to adjust the date. Be careful not to set the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism. Once set, push the crown back in completely.
Compatibility
This Fossil Scarlette watch is highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of personal styles, from casual to formal. Its two-tone silver and yellow gold design allows it to pair beautifully with both silver and gold jewelry, making it a flexible choice for various ensembles.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: To maintain its luster, wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For more thorough cleaning of the stainless steel bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring it's dried immediately afterwards. Avoid harsh chemicals, soaps, or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for showering, bathing, and swimming in shallow water. Do not press the crown or any buttons while the watch is wet. Avoid hot water, steam rooms, saunas, and high-pressure water jets, as these can compromise the water seals.
- Avoiding Extreme Conditions: Protect your watch from extreme temperatures (hot or cold), direct sunlight for prolonged periods, and strong magnetic fields, which can affect its accuracy. Avoid harsh impacts or drops.
- Battery Replacement: The Quartz movement is powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping, it's time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have this done by a professional watchmaker or authorized service center to ensure proper re-sealing for water resistance.
- Bracelet Adjustment: If the stainless steel bracelet is too loose or too tight, it may need to be adjusted. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a professional to prevent damage to the bracelet or spring bars.
