Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
The EOS FS reel is designed to fit standard modern rod fishing rods. Ensure the reel foot is securely seated in the reel seat and tightened firmly. Spool the reel with your chosen line, ensuring an even fill to avoid casting issues. Familiarize yourself with the free spool mechanism by practicing the engagement and disengagement.
Compatibility:
This reel is compatible with most carp and coarse fishing rods. Its free spool system makes it particularly suitable for species that are prone to aggressive takes. The 10,000 size is a versatile option, fitting a wide range of fishing styles.
Care:
- Rinse: After each use, especially in saltwater or muddy conditions, rinse the reel with fresh water. Avoid high-pressure sprays directly into the mechanism.
- Clean: Periodically, wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, consult the manufacturer's detailed maintenance guide if available, or gently clean accessible parts with a mild soap and water solution.
- Lubricate: Apply a small amount of reel oil to moving parts like the handle and line roller as recommended by the manufacturer, typically after cleaning.
- Storage: Store the reel in a cool, dry place, preferably in a protective pouch, when not in use to prevent damage and corrosion.
