The Sealey AK8370 175mm Combination Pliers are professional-grade hand tools designed for tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable, high-leverage gripping and cutting solution. Crafted from high-strength Chrome Vanadium steel, these pliers excel at both twisting wires and cutting through various gauges, though they are specifically tuned for professional utility rather than heavy-duty industrial cable shearing.

No, the Sealey AK8370 pliers are not VDE rated and should not be used on live electrical circuits.
While the cutting edges are induction-hardened, these are designed for standard wire and cable. Using them on hardened bolts may damage the cutting edges.
HRC stands for Rockwell C scale, which measures the hardness of the steel. A rating of 55-65 indicates a high level of hardness, ensuring the cutting edge remains sharp.
Keep the pliers dry and wipe them down with an oily rag after use in damp conditions to preserve the finish.
The Sealey AK8370 measures 175mm in total length.
Apply a light machine oil to the pivot joint and work the handles back and forth several times to distribute the lubricant.
Check the cutting edges for debris or burrs. If the edges are dull from use on hardened steel, they may require professional grinding or replacement.
Ensure the handle is clean and free of grease; if the grip becomes loose, avoid using the pliers until the handle is secured or replaced.
These pliers are ready to use immediately out of the packaging. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, keep the pivot point clean and apply a small drop of machine oil periodically to maintain smooth operation. Avoid using these pliers as a hammer or pry bar, as excessive side-loading can damage the hardened jaws or the pivot joint. Store the tool in a dry environment to supplement the corrosion-resistant black oxide finish.
