Product Information

Full details

The Olaplex Bond-Building Shine Serum Oil Mist is designed for individuals seeking a quick, lightweight way to restore luster and moisture to dry, dull hair without sacrificing volume. By utilizing the brand's signature Bond-Building Technology, it provides an immediate visual improvement in hair health and manageability; however, users should be mindful that because it is a lightweight mist, those with extremely coarse or heavily damaged hair may still require a heavier leave-in cream for deep structural repair.

FAQs

Can I use this on wet hair?

While it can be used on damp hair, it is specifically formulated to provide the best shine and finishing benefits when used on dry hair.

Will this protect my hair from heat styling?

This product is primarily a finishing shine mist; for intensive heat protection, it is recommended to use a dedicated thermal protectant before using hot tools.

How often should I apply the mist?

You can apply it as needed to refresh your hair or add shine, but once or twice daily is generally sufficient.

Is it safe for color-treated hair?

Yes, the bond-building technology is gentle and designed to support hair that has been chemically processed or colored.

Does it contain silicones?

The formula focuses on balancing nourishing oils and serums; check the full ingredient list on the product packaging for specific sensitivity concerns.

Troubleshooting

The spray nozzle feels clogged or uneven

Run the nozzle under warm water and wipe it clean to remove any dried product buildup.

The hair feels too oily after application

Reduce the number of sprays and focus application strictly on the very ends of the hair rather than higher up.

The layers in the bottle have separated

This is normal for a bi-phase formula; simply shake the bottle vigorously for 5-10 seconds before each use.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight formula prevents hair from looking greasy or weighed down
Easy-to-use spray format is ideal for refreshing hair on the go
Safe for all hair types seeking improved shine and manageability
Helps maintain hair health through continuous bond-building support

Cons

May not be intense enough for extremely dry or porous hair types
The fine mist requires careful aim to ensure even distribution
Requires shaking before every use to combine the bi-phase formula

Setup, Compatibility & Care

There is no complex setup required for this product; simply shake well and prime the nozzle if using it for the first time. It is highly compatible with all hair types and textures, including color-treated or chemically processed hair, as the formula is designed to be gentle and restorative. For optimal care, store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the active ingredients. Always ensure the cap is securely fastened after use to prevent clogging of the fine mist nozzle.
