FAQs

Can I use the Dirty Dog Shammy on my cat?

Yes, the material is soft and safe for cats, making it a great tool for post-bath drying.

Does it need to be air-dried or can I put it in the dryer?

While air drying is best for longevity, you can tumble dry on a low-heat setting; avoid high heat as it may damage the microfiber.

How many shammies do I get in an order?

Each order includes one microfiber towel.

Can this be used to dry off furniture or car seats?

Yes, its high absorption makes it an excellent tool for soaking up spills or drying off wet upholstery after a trip with your pet.

What is the GSM of this towel?

The Dirty Dog Shammy has a 3000 GSM absorption rate, which is significantly higher than most competitors.

Troubleshooting

Towel is not absorbing water as well as it did when new

Wash the shammy without fabric softener. Residue from softeners can clog the microfiber strands.

Towel retains a pet smell

Wash the towel in hot water with a cup of white vinegar to neutralize odors, then ensure it is fully dried.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly faster drying time compared to cotton towels
Dual hand pockets allow for excellent control while drying
Incredibly soft material feels comfortable on a pet's skin
Highly durable construction with high-density fiber strands

Cons

Requires regular washing if used frequently in very muddy conditions
May take longer to dry completely due to its high absorbency
Limited to specific sizing options

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Using the Dirty Dog Shammy is intuitive; simply place your hands into the designated elastic pockets and begin drying your pet starting from the head and moving towards the tail. The towel is suitable for all dog breeds and, notably, works effectively for cats as well. To care for your shammy, it is machine washable. We recommend washing it in cold water with mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can coat the microfiber strands and reduce their absorption efficiency over time. Always allow the towel to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area to maintain its long-term performance.
