Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, first ensure the stove is completely cool. Remove the stove door and lay it on a flat, protected surface. Carefully clear the door frame of any old debris, rust, or remnants of the previous glass. It is essential to replace or verify that the rope or self-adhesive tape seal between the glass and the door is in good condition; a poor seal can lead to air leaks. When placing the new glass, position it gently into the frame. When securing the glass with screws and washers, tighten them gently by hand only. Do not use power tools, as over-tightening can create tension points that cause the glass to crack once the stove heats up. For ongoing care, clean the glass with a specialized soot remover once cool, and avoid abrasive scrubbers that may leave micro-scratches.
