Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Strip the insulation from the ends of the two wires you wish to connect.
- Insert one stripped wire end into one side of the butt connector.
- Insert the other stripped wire end into the other side of the butt connector.
- Using a crimping tool, firmly crimp the metal barrel of the connector around both wires. Ensure a secure mechanical grip.
- Apply heat evenly to the connector using a heat gun on a low-to-medium setting or a lighter (keeping the flame moving to avoid scorching). Heat until the tubing shrinks tightly around the wires and the adhesive inside melts and flows, creating a seal.
Compatibility:
This kit is compatible with standard wire gauges: Red (22-18 AWG), Blue (16-14 AWG), and Yellow (12-10 AWG). Ensure the wire gauge matches the connector size for optimal performance.
Care:
Store connectors in a dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Ensure the original packaging or a suitable container is used to prevent contamination or damage to the adhesive lining.
