FAQs
Does Sedum 'Atlantis' need winter protection?
It is a hardy plant and generally withstands typical UK winter conditions, provided the soil remains well-drained.
Can I plant these in shade?
While it can handle partial shade, the best variegation and flowering occur in a full sun position.
How often should I water my Sedum?
Once established, it requires very little water. Water only when the top few centimeters of soil are completely dry.
Can this be grown in hanging baskets?
Yes, its spreading habit makes it a great choice for hanging baskets or wall containers where it can spill over the edges.
Are these plants toxic to pets?
While generally considered low-toxicity, it is best practice to keep all decorative plants out of reach of curious pets.
Troubleshooting
Leaves turning mushy or rotting
Reduce watering frequency immediately and ensure the soil has adequate drainage, possibly by adding grit or repotting.
Foliage losing variegation/becoming solid green
Move the plant to a location with more direct sunlight, as low-light conditions cause the plant to prioritize chlorophyll production.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Upon arrival, ensure your Sedum 'Atlantis' is planted in a location that receives full sun to partial shade. The most critical factor for success is soil composition; use a well-draining potting mix or incorporate grit/sand into your garden soil to prevent root rot. Watering should be moderate during the first season until established, after which the plant becomes highly drought-resistant. Little to no pruning is required, though you may trim back any wayward stems in early spring to maintain a desired shape or compactness.
