Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Before starting, ensure you have the necessary tools, including a post hole digger, level, measuring tape, and safety equipment. Clear the area of any obstructions.
- Hole Digging: Dig post holes to the recommended depth, typically one-third of the post's total length below ground. Ensure the holes are wide enough to accommodate the post and any concrete.
- Post Placement: Place the fence posts in the holes, ensuring they are level and aligned. Use a spirit level to check the posts' vertical alignment.
- Concrete Pouring (Optional): If using concrete, pour it around the posts, ensuring it's evenly distributed. Allow the concrete to set according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Backfilling (Optional): If not using concrete, backfill the holes with soil, compacting it firmly around the posts.
- Panel Installation: Once the posts are secure, attach the fence panels according to the panel manufacturer's instructions.
Compatibility
The Forest Garden Fence Post - Green is compatible with various pressure-treated fence panels, including lap panels, vertical board panels, and featheredge panels.
Care
- Regular Inspection: Inspect the fence posts regularly for any signs of damage or decay.
- Cleaning: Clean the posts as needed to remove any dirt or debris.
- Maintenance: While the posts are pressure-treated for rot resistance, applying a wood preservative can further extend their lifespan.
- Avoid Damage: Be careful when using tools or equipment near the posts to prevent damage.
