Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your ferns flourish, follow these guidelines:
- Planting: Use a quality, moisture-retentive compost when potting. Ensure the container is large enough to allow for root development.
- Location: Choose a position in full or partial shade away from drying winds.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently damp. During dry spells, water both the soil and the crown of the fern.
- Winter Care: When temperatures drop toward -5 degrees Celsius, cover the crown with straw or garden fleece to protect the growing point from frost damage.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced liquid feed during the active growing season to support frond health.
