FAQs

What is the difference between the two main ovens?

The left cavity is an 80-litre multifunction oven with various cooking modes, suitable for large roasts. The right cavity is a 67-litre fan oven, ideal for baking or secondary roasting.

How do the catalytic liners work?

Catalytic liners are porous materials that absorb grease and food splatters during cooking. They break down these residues at high temperatures, making them easy to wipe away after the oven has cooled.

Can I use LPG with this cooker?

This cooker is supplied for natural gas. Conversion to LPG is possible but must be carried out by a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

What is the energy efficiency rating?

The energy efficiency rating for the ovens is 'A'. Specific energy consumption figures for each oven are detailed in the product specifications.

What are the dimensions of the cooker?

The cooker has a width of 900mm, a depth of approximately 666mm (including handles), and an adjustable height of 895-935mm.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, the Rangemaster Classic Deluxe 90cm Dual Fuel Range Cooker typically comes with a 2-year parts and labour warranty. Extended warranties may be available.

What type of hob surface does it have?

The hob features a cast iron top surface with five gas burners, including a dedicated wok burner and a Teppanyaki griddle.

Troubleshooting

Hob burners not igniting

Ensure the gas supply is turned on. Check if the igniter is dirty or wet and clean it. Verify that the burner cap is correctly seated. If the issue persists, contact a qualified engineer.

Oven not heating up evenly

Check if the oven is set to the correct function. Ensure the oven door is sealing properly. If using fan-assisted modes, ensure items are not blocking the fan. Allow the oven to fully preheat before placing food inside.

Grill not working

Confirm the grill function is selected and the temperature is set appropriately. Ensure the grill pan is correctly inserted. Check the electrical supply to the grill element.

Display is blank or unresponsive

Try turning the appliance off at the mains power for a few minutes, then turn it back on. Ensure there are no temporary power interruptions.

Gas smell detected

Immediately turn off the gas supply to the appliance and ventilate the area. Do not operate any electrical switches or open flames. Contact your gas provider or a Gas Safe registered engineer urgently.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Generous oven capacity with three distinct cooking spaces.
  • Versatile five-zone gas hob accommodates diverse cooking needs.
  • Specialized features like the Teppanyaki Griddle enhance culinary possibilities.
  • Self-cleaning catalytic liners significantly reduce manual cleaning effort.
  • Striking Bordeaux and Chrome design makes it a kitchen focal point.
  • Dual fuel setup offers the responsiveness of gas with electric oven precision.

Cons

  • Requires a dual fuel gas and electric connection.
  • The 90cm width may be too large for smaller kitchens.
  • While ovens have catalytic liners, the hob and grill still require manual cleaning.
  • Higher initial purchase cost compared to standard cookers.
  • The energy efficiency rating of 'A' is standard but not the highest available on the market.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Installation: This is a dual fuel appliance, requiring both a gas connection for the hob and an electrical connection for the ovens and ignition. Professional installation by a Gas Safe registered engineer and a qualified electrician is highly recommended to ensure safety and compliance.
  2. Adjustable Feet: The cooker features adjustable feet to ensure it sits level, crucial for oven door alignment and hob performance. Ensure the cooker is stable before use.
  3. Plinth: The self-adjusting magnetic plinth allows for a flush fit beneath standard worktops, creating a seamless look.

Compatibility:

  • Power Requirements: Requires a 230-400V electrical supply with a 32A current. Ensure your home's electrical system can support this load.
  • Gas Type: This appliance is designed for natural gas. If you use LPG, conversion by a qualified engineer will be necessary.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance as per manufacturer guidelines to prevent overheating.

Care:

  • Ovens: The catalytic liners in the main and fan ovens absorb grease. After heavy use, they may require a wipe down. Refer to the manual for specific cleaning instructions for these liners. The small top oven has an enamel coating which can be cleaned with a standard oven cleaner.
  • Hob: Allow the cast iron pan supports and hob surface to cool completely before cleaning. Use a damp cloth and mild detergent for general cleaning. For stubborn residue on the cast iron, a non-abrasive cleaner can be used. The griddle plate should be cleaned after each use.
  • Grill Pan: Clean the grill pan and handle after each use with warm, soapy water.
  • Exterior: Wipe the Bordeaux enamel and chrome trim with a soft, damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth to maintain the finish.
