Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Upon receiving the 12 plug plants, it is recommended to pot them into larger containers with good quality compost. Allow them to grow on in a warm, light position (like a greenhouse or sunny windowsill) for several weeks until their roots have filled the pots and they are ready to be planted out.
Compatibility: These geraniums thrive in sunny locations and are ideal for containers, window boxes, hanging baskets, and borders. They are tolerant of drought once established.
Care:
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
- Feeding: Feed every 2-4 weeks with a high potash liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring to summer) to promote abundant flowering.
- Deadheading: Remove faded flowers regularly by cutting the stem at its base. This encourages the plant to produce more blooms.
- Pruning: While not essential, light pruning can help maintain shape. Overwintering indoors in a frost-free location may allow for a repeat display the following year.
