Yarn is fraying during knitting.

Ensure you have tied a knot at the beginning of the yarn before starting to knit. Check that the yarn is not catching on anything as you knit.

Stitches appear uneven.

Ensure consistent tension while knitting. If you're a beginner, practice maintaining even stitches. Consider using larger needles if your stitches are too tight.

Finished item feels scratchy after washing.
